About me: Coming from a background in Computer Games Programming, and now researching into networked perfromance in immersive virtual environments at the University of Creative Arts, I focus myself toward creative industries. I am passionate about the use and combination of creative technologies and game design practice and philosophy to enhance experiences, performences and immersive events within the metaverse and the real-world. My experience in XR technologies, performance capture, game design, Unity & Unreal engine, and general app development lend me a skillset not often seen outside of the game or vfx industry. I have worked on prototypes for medical insitutions, education games for children with advanced learning difficulties, live digital performances, interactive and immersive art works, and multi-user virtual experiences. I believe my work has an impact on SME's and independent artists that truly want to embrace bleeding edge tech in innovative ways, that do not necessarily have the budget for multi-million pound firms. Collaboration with independent artists is a grand personal motivator, and I am burdened with a constant drive to learn.
Passion beyond work: I am fortunate enough that my passions inspire the work that I do, which leads to much of my free time being used for my own projects, usually evolving into work again. I also love music, I am stuck deep in video game culture, and I spend an equal amount of time playing in VR as I do developing in VR.
Positive Impact: My current PhD research is focusing on bringing networked live performance to the masses using immersive virtual environments. I am inspired by the possibilty of my work enabling millions of people around the world to experience world-class performances in an accessible but equally wonderful manner. My work will lead to brand new innovative experiences that have never truly been realised, and I am excited to see the reach my work will have. I am currently working on a project with a registered community interest company based in Leicester. The client is Generation Youth, and we are creating an interactive gamified VR training simulator to equip young people with autism develop entreupenurial skills.
